FAQ: How does Confidant handle partial payments or single payments that cover multiple sessions?

The above FAQ document is a downloadable PDF document that details (complete with screen shots) how partial and "lump-sum" payments can be handled by Confidant. To view this file, you need to have Adobe Reader installed on your system.  This software can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.

bulletWhat other software do I need to run Confidant?
None. Confidant comes complete with all the software files necessary to successfully run it.
bulletI have two office locations.  Can both locations be printed on the Invoices that Confidant generates?  I also have a separate address where all payment should be sent.
Confidant comes with two invoice templates. One template displays a single address location on the invoice, while the other displays two office locations.  You can specify (in the Business Settings section of the system) which invoice template you wish to use.  In addition, either invoice format allows you to specify a "Remit to:" address.
bulletSome clients require a very detailed bill (including complete diagnosis information, tax ID and license information) for submission to insurance while others prefer a very simple bill with minimal diagnosis information.  Which invoice format does Confidant use?
Actually, Confidant can accommodate both kinds of clients! You can decide which format is appropriate on a client by client basis and supply a "concise" diagnosis for a specific patient.  That abbreviated diagnosis information will appear on the invoice for that client, while other clients will receive the more detailed invoice that many insurance companies require.
bulletI find that even when I get my invoicing done, the tedious task of writing out the addresses on each envelope is very time consuming.  I have to go back and forth to my client profiles to find the proper address information.  It is especially difficult when a client resides at one address and the individual responsible for payment resides at another address.  Can Confidant help?
First of all, whenever an invoice is generated, whether for a single individual or for all individuals included in a billing cycle, Confidant offers you the option of printing the corresponding address labels for those clients.  In addition, Confidant allows you to designate a contact for each client and to specify that all invoices should be sent to the contact mailing address.  All this is done automatically with no inconvenience to you.
bulletI have seen some other practice management software that just seem to be too complicated for my needs.  I have to go through a number of steps and searches just to enter a simple session note!
Confidant prides itself in its simplicity and ease of use.  The main screen (once you provide your logon ID and password) provides you with an instant list of your current clients.  Simply type in the first few letters of the client's last name and the name will quickly appear.  With the click of a single button, that client's record will open and be ready for you to enter your new session information.  When done, click on another button to conveniently print a hard-copy for your files.
bulletConfidant really seems to have exactly what I need.  Why is the price so much cheaper than some of the other similar software packages?
Good question.  The answer to this question goes back to the origins of the system.  While some companies are in the business of developing software simply for the sake of making a profit, Confidant began as a customized software solution for a psychologist who could not find an easy, cost-effective way to manage his private practice.  Instead of spending his money on a program that did not truly meet his needs, he opted to have a system custom built by an experienced software developer.  As time is money, every single feature of the system was carefully considered prior to inclusion.  The mandate given to the developer was to create a system that does exactly what was needed, in the most straightforward way, specifically, with no complicated bells and whistles.  While some systems focus on all they do, Confidant was meant to focus on how it is done.  The key factor being a concentration on ease of use. That being said, the system was delivered.  After using the system and seeing how much his practice had benefited since its initial use, the psychologist and developer decided to team up, clean it up and share it with the world!  OK.  So that sounds a little too noble.  But truth be told, although created by a team of professionals, we are not looking to retire on our Confidant sales.  We decided to offer top rated quality, at an affordable price.  Call us crazy (well, maybe not), but we felt there really was a need for some good stuff for the cost-conscious mental health professional.   Just our little way of showing our appreciation for those who spend so much time helping others.
